This is the 14th collaborative clock project that Dave Bruckenstein
and I have completed. It uses magnetic viewing film to
display a "clock face" that flashes on and off and also fades
in and out to tell time.
I machined a circular pattern of 12 holes in a piece of
sheet metal that is attached to a large 12VDC electromagnet.
Adding the film on top to show the magnetic fields.
The case is made from a 45 degree ABS plumbing elbow that
was painted with hammer tone paint.
The electronics mount in the base include control for the
electromagnet, 2 touch sensor boards, and a battery
backed real time clock.
